Tyrod Taylor hosted his third annual community weekend in his hometown of Hampton, Virginia - an event that celebrates the former NFL quarterback's commitment to giving back. The two-day gathering included a basketball tournament, autograph signings, and partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of the VA Peninsula to aid in mental health resources.

Tyrod Taylor, a proud Hampton native and 13-year veteran NFL quarterback for the New York Giants, hosted his third annual Tyrod Taylor Community Weekend - an event that has become a theme of this offseason. The weekend showcased Taylor's commitment to giving back to his hometown by providing a safe and welcoming environment for members of the community to come together and enjoy the festivities. Taylor expressed his excitement for the event, noting the importance of fellowship and being around one another.

He also highlighted the importance of the event's partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula, which opened its doors in March with a mission to provide mental health resources for area youth. Smith, the Boys and Girls Club president and CEO, was equally passionate about the cause and looked forward to helping young people learn to cope with mental stress. Taylor spoke highly of the organization's initiative, commenting that kids today need to be taught these skills earlier and that they need a place to turn to when dealing with such difficult matters.

On Saturday, the former Virginia Tech star watched from the sidelines as a few local basketball players competed in the "Blacktop Showdown" and signed autographs from some of the younger fans who were awestruck. Taylor is proud to have been part of the opening of the Wellness Center in March and looks forward to another successful yoga session on Friday. He'll begin his second season with the NY Giants at the end of the month, something he is eagerly anticipating after his journey between Buffalo, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Houston in the span of five years before joining the Big Apple. Throughout his career, Taylor has proudly passed for 10,794 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions.

He's thrilled to be able to build on the success of last season and compete at a higher level.

Tyrod Taylor’s third annual Community Weekend proved to be a success this year - bringing members of the community together under one roof and supporting mental health initiatives like the Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula. Taylor got involved during his career in hopes that quicker action on educating young people about mental health would start at an earlier age. Throughout his tenure, Taylor broke impressive passing records with 10,794 total passing yards, 60 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions. While he will soon take the field this month in New York for the second season with the Giants, Taylor returns to his hometown of Hampton having touched scores of lives who will remember his significant interferences forever.
